The Mukawa is a traditional vessel handcrafted by the Kichwa women of Canelos, Ecuador. Considered a form of “living archaeology,” these pieces preserve centuries-old modeling and painting techniques, maintaining the authenticity of their ancestral artistry.

For generations, the women of the Kichwa community in Pastaza, Ecuador, have shaped and decorated these vessels using materials and symbolic representations unique to their culture. Each Mukawa carries the essence of an enduring tradition, connecting the past with the present.
